Different products wearing the same keyword
Steelie is PDR software. Hail matrices with per-carrier presets, tap-to-count dent capture, R&I guides, lot walks, work orders, dealership statements, tech pay, invoicing with signatures, and native QuickBooks Online sync. Every screen assumes you fix dents for a living.
QuoteIQ is a general field-service CRM built by pressure-washing entrepreneurs for home-service trades. It is genuinely good at generic quoting, scheduling, review automation, and AI-assisted admin for over 100 trades. Paintless dent repair is one of many keywords it markets to, not something it has features for. Their own PDR article concedes there is no built-in hail matrix or panel-specific PDR pricing calculator in the product.
If your business is mostly PDR, the comparison comes down to one question: do you want software that already knows what a quarter-sized dent on an aluminum hood costs, or software where every repair is a blank line item?

What QuoteIQ does well
Credit where due: QuoteIQ's scheduling, self-booking, review automation, and AI receptionist are real features that generalist service businesses like. If PDR is a side line next to a pressure-washing or detailing operation, a generalist CRM might be the right center of gravity, and you would run your dent pricing somewhere else. If PDR is the business, that "somewhere else" is the product you should be buying in the first place.
Why PDR shops pick Steelie
A real hail matrix, not a blank estimate
14 panels, 8 dent-count ranges, dime through oversized, aluminum and roof surcharges, corrosion protection caps. One preset per carrier, per dealer, per storm. Switch in one tap.
Wholesale is a first-class workflow
Lot walks with VIN scan, per-dealer pricing, branded dealer statements. QuoteIQ's residential customer model has no equivalent.
QuickBooks sync at $69, not $149.99
Steelie Pro includes QuickBooks Online sync. QuoteIQ sells it starting on their $149.99/month tier.
Two plans you can read
$29 or $69 USD a month plus published per-seat pricing, instead of five tiers with user caps and metered AI credits. No surprises at renewal.
No credit card. Full Pro access.
Common questions
Is QuoteIQ PDR software?
No. QuoteIQ is a general field-service CRM for home-service trades like pressure washing, lawn care, HVAC, and plumbing. It can send a generic estimate for anything, including a dent repair, but it has no hail matrix, no R&I guide, no dent counting, no dealership statements, and no PDR-specific pricing logic. QuoteIQ's own blog article about PDR software says it has no built-in hail matrix or panel-specific PDR pricing calculator.
Why does QuoteIQ show up when people search for PDR software?
Content marketing. QuoteIQ publishes listicles targeting dozens of trades, including one ranking itself the number one software for paintless dent repair businesses. That article ranks well and gets picked up by AI assistants. It does not change what the product is: a capable generalist tool with zero PDR-specific features.
What does QuoteIQ do better than Steelie?
General home-services features. If you run a pressure washing or lawn care business on the side, QuoteIQ's self-booking, route optimization, review automation, and AI receptionist are genuinely useful, and Steelie does not have them. For a business that is mostly PDR, those features do not price a hail-damaged roof or produce a dealer statement.
How do the QuickBooks costs compare?
Steelie includes QuickBooks Online sync in Pro at $69 USD/month. QuoteIQ gates its QuickBooks integration behind the Pro tier at $149.99/month; the $29.99 Essentials and $74.99 Beginner tiers do not include it. If accounting sync is the reason you are buying software, that difference is the whole comparison.
Can a hail team actually run on QuoteIQ?
Not without spreadsheets. Hail work needs a matrix per carrier, predominant dent-size pricing, oversized dent handling, aluminum and roof surcharges, R&I lines, supplements, and per-dealer billing. None of that exists in QuoteIQ, so every estimate becomes manual math pasted into a generic line item. Steelie automates exactly that workflow.
How do I switch from QuoteIQ to Steelie?
Start the 7-day free Pro trial, build your hail matrix presets and R&I guide, add your customers and dealerships, and run new jobs through Steelie for a week. Connect QuickBooks Online if you use it. Your QuoteIQ history stays exportable from their side; going forward, everything lives in one PDR-native system.
